SHS Volleyball momentum stays strong

The Starmount High School volleyball coach, Jon Symons, has moved on from his position here at the school. In previous years, he led the team to victory. Since his departure, it has caused a few volleyball players to doubt themselves and this new change. Many players worried about whether they would be able to keep up the team’s momentum of past championships with a new coach, whoever that may be. At first, the team doubted anyone other than Symons would understand their volleyball program because they thought a new coach wouldn’t know their skills and routines.

That anxiety has come to change as one of the players, Estela de la Fuente, stated, “The new coach is the best thing that has happened to them. She helps us in our weak spots individually and she’s making the team better and stronger little by little.”

They have started to regain hope since the new coach has arrived to Starmount High School. Even though that they have lost a match, they see it as an opportunity to fix their mistakes and become better at playing the sport.
